The first task is to understand

A rushed answer may solve the wrong problem. Listen for the concern beneath the wording and clarify when the question contains assumptions or several issues.

Separate pressure from hostility

A direct question is not automatically an attack. Treating it as one can create defensiveness where none was intended.

Answer at the right level

Begin with the clearest responsible answer, then add the evidence or qualification the room actually needs. Avoid hiding the conclusion inside a long explanation.

Know when not to improvise

Credibility can increase when you state what you know, what still requires verification and when a reliable answer will be provided.

Communication creates impact when it helps people see clearly, decide confidently and move together.
